Glacier Signs & Monuments is searching for a regular part time granite engraver that can express their skills and learn right alongside us. Are you looking for a career that challenges your artistic side? Would you like carving and sculpting natural rock?

As an engraver you will work with our team in the shop and help with the creation process. Tasks would include preparing granite material for engraving, applying protective masking, sandblast engraving with an automatic sandblaster and a CNC Sandblaster, cleaning the headstone when complete. Shaping and carving granite with a manual sandblaster, power driven diamond grinders and a hand chisel and/or air chisel.

$12-$18/hour depending on qualifications. Pay is based on experience, ability, availability, ability to be taught. Self-driven learners will advance quickly. On the job training is provided and applicant must reach a certain level of expertise to receive a higher wage. Hours are flexible and weekend work is allowed.

Applicant must:
~ Have an eye for detail
~ Be aware of the principles of proportion, level, square and center
~ Able to read a tape measure and level
~ Understand basic font styles
~ Good Hand/Eye Coordination
~ Comfortable working in a team environment
~ Able to lift 50-70lbs
~ Reliable, consistent & alert
~ Drug free

Entry level engraver includes but not limited to:
~ Learn how to safely move granite material using boom lifts
~ Work from a list of tasks to complete work in a timely manner
~ Run power and pneumatic tools
~ Keep working area clean and safe
~ Prep materials for application
~ Run automatic and CNC sandblasting equipment

Expanded skills (Potential Full Time) include but not limited to:
~ Install and remove pieces for sandblasting
~ Run plotter machines to cut vinyl and rubber masking
~ Sandblasting skills from simple engraving to hands on sculpting
~ Paint using a HVLP gun and airbrush
~ Experience with hand chiseling and air chiseling granite
~ CAD software and CNC experience a plus

We are looking for a granite memorial installer. Tasks would include breaking granite slabs, moving granite using boom lift, driving to cemeteries, digging foundation and base holes, installing granite memorials in cemetery, photographing and uploading final pictures of memorial.

Pay is based on availability and experience.Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Applicant must:
~ Comfortable working in a team environment
~ Able to lift 50-70lbs
~ Have an eye for detail
~ Good Hand/Eye Coordination
~ Drug free
~ Reliable & alert
~ Able to read a tape measure and level

Regular Part Time work

$12-$16 hr depending on qualifications

We are looking for a laborer to work in the shop and help with production. Tasks would include moving and breaking granite, applying protective masking, cleaning stones, assisting with installing memorials in the cemetery.

Pay is based on availability, experience, and other qualifications such as having a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Applicant must:
~ Comfortable working in a team environment and follow directions
~ Able to lift up to 100lbs
~ Have an eye for detail
~ Good Hand/Eye Coordination
~ Drug free
~ Reliable & alert
~ Able to read a tape measure and level
~ Aware of the principles of proportion, level, square and center

On the job training is provided and applicant must reach a certain level of expertise to receive a higher wage. Hours are flexible.
